I know it's been ages since I've posted.

However, I'm back again and things are changing a bit.  This blog used to be just a place for me to talk about stuffs, some relevant, some not at all. Now it will be to chronicle my journey through bariatric surgery.

I started seeing my surgeon back in January but ended up having a hiccup in everything when I lost my job with PG&E. Eventually I was able to get on Medi-Cal and I'm still able to have the surgery, just more hoops to jump through insurance wise than I had with a PPO.

Fast forward to April, I have insurance again and was able to retain my PCP and get referred back to my surgeon.

As of mid-June I've completed my endoscopy, psychological evaluation, and meetings with the nutritionist. I'm having my overnight sleep study and physical therapy assessment at the end of July.

My surgeon tells me it's time to get me on the schedule. Sweet!

Turns out my surgeon can't get me in until the end of November. Total buzz kill as I'm planning on transferring in fall of 2015 to a university and want about a year under my belt with my surgery before that happens.

Luckily, my surgeon's partner has openings in late July, the downside to this is I can't see him until July 21, on the plus side he was out of town until July 14 and only sees people on Mondays, so hopefully his schedule hasn't filled up too much.

Really, I just want it done before fall semester starts on August 18th.

That's where I'm at effective today. Post surgery I plan on updating at least once a week with pics and weigh-in info. Other posts as well but that will be the bare minimum.

That's enough for tonight. Until next time.
